I hurt my back this morning washing our new dog (Stella! *) so while I lie around doing nothing exciting, I’m teaching myself how to knit. (I love these videos, by the way.)
My youngest, Charlie (5), watched me for a while and then wanted to give it a try. I thought needles would be tricky for him, but then I remembered learning finger weaving as a kid. I found a couple of helpful pictures to jump-start my feeble memory, and in less than 5 minutes he was hooked!

* Here is Stella on the right next to our other dog Molly on the way to take the kids to school. They make quite an adorable pair, and they’ve been inseparable since we got her at the shelter last Saturday :) (If you’re in the Bay Area, California, I really recommend ARF in Walnut Creek as a fantastic place to get a dog, cat, rabbit… We also got Molly there last year, and both times the staff was wonderful.)
Stella’s making herself right at home by sleeping on both dog beds, and only leaving a tiny square for Molly to put her butt on.
Ah, dogs ;)
Hope you’re all having a great weekend!

aw, baby, sorry about your back. kids and dawgs sure are sweet, though.
