Handmade Summer Whimsy

The end of summer is creeping up on us, so I thought now would be a good time to focus on some fun, whimsical summer items that are sure to make you smile as these hot days draw to a close.

First up is this absolutely perfect summer dress from Amanda Archer. I am not at all exaggerating when I say that I think this is the perfect summer dress. Not only that, but if you throw on a cardigan, it would make the perfect fall dress. Add some tights and it will carry you into winter in style. With some ballet flats and a chunky bracelet it will take you right on through the spring. So, I guess it’s really an all around perfect dress.

In these busy days of email and text messaging, there is nothing that so quickly tells others you care as sending them a handwritten note. As a bonus, if you send the note to them on this beautiful butterfly stationery from Pixel Impress they may just recycle your greeting into a beautiful print for their home. Stationery that does double duty as home decor? Brilliant.

Throughout the hot summer months I have relied on headbands and scarves to keep my hair from sticking to the back of my neck. This headband, from Lemon Tree Studio, would be perfect for keeping you cool in the dog days of summer. I love the use of color and pattern! This headband would be a perfect way to dress up a tee and capris.

When I searched for whimsical summer items, this pot from D. Hergt Design quickly made it to the top of my list. It is clear that Deanna Hergt puts a little bit of her own amazing and artistic spirit into each piece she makes. I defy you to frown while you look at her ceramics!

Last, but not least, is a gift for the guys. This tee from Cloth Moth Clothing is the perfect gift for your partner if you are a crafty gal or guy. My husband will definitely be sporting one of these cool tees soon!
