Knap Shizuku Earrings

I love these elegant glass earrings made with the burnerwork technique.

By Knap.

{ Update 2 from the artist: “The ‘torch work’ is called ‘burner work’ in Japan. It looks like the technique for making the lamp work bead, and is not too difficult. The knack is to use the glass made in Japan. The glass made in Japan is low melting point, and sticky. Therefore, it is possible to combine with silver.” }

{ Update for those who have asked about ‘burnerwork’ – Heather Palmer tells me that it is also called ‘lampwork’, ‘flamework’ or ‘torchwork’ and I think those names are more familiar. This explains why I had a hard time googling ‘burnerwork’ when I was writing this post… Thanks Heather! }

Those are really beautiful. I am not familiar with that glass technique. Would love to learn more about it. Do you have any resources on how the glasswork is accomplished. It looks sort of like a fusing process maybe? thanks

These really are beautiful earrings– simple and elegant. I love the gradation in colors within each piece.

@mistyridge: I asked around and it turns out to be the same as torchwork/flamework/lampwork. Hope that helps!
