I have fond memories of New Jersey beaches from my childhood & teenage years. As a kid, my family all traveled to Stone Harbor. And, while in high school, my friends introduced me to Brigantine Beach, a small island just off shore of Atlantic City – simple family living during the day, fun times at night – best of both worlds!
Michelle, from Cicada Studio, has a new line of fabrics for Henry Glass in the works. She also is working on a 2010 calendar printed on antiqued tea towels from one of two of her more popular designs. {Busy lady!} To celebrate this exciting time, she’s offering a fat quarter bundle of her fabric in a giveaway – which will also help her choose which calendar version to go through with.
Uncorked is a favorite crafter all around the interwebs. Is it her unique use of materials? Her mad scientist tendencies? Or perhaps the clever use of pop culture, as in this “I Read Banned Books” pendant? Probably, all of the above. And each of her necklaces comes in a test tube. Fabulous.
Here’s another great use of unusual materials? Keep yourself “on the level” with this necklace from Sherry Truitt.
I haven’t been a big fan of the zipper jewelry trend. But Amalia Versaci may have made me a convert. Her style is simple and her colors are soft & rich. You could make a real statement wearing one of these pieces around your neck.
