Snip, Snip – Cut paper art

I am constantly intrigued by what cut paper artists can accomplish with scissors, papers, and glue. Each artist below has embraced a unique style on this art form which is sure to captivate your interest.

artwork by Roadside Projects

Jayme McGowan from Roadside Projects is setting a new standard for cut paper art. Her pieces are intricately concocted and expertly executed. Her subject matter spans generational interest and can be displayed in any room of your house. Prints and originals are available in her shop and don’t forget to visit her project blog.

artwork by Rural Pearl

I found the cut paper art at Rural Pearl to be modern and refreshing. The artist, Angie Pickman, has made this art form her own. I am drawn to the strong black and white pieces and appreciate her use of color. You will find prints and even some pendants made from her originals.

artwork from Papers Edge

Available in both originals and prints, the artwork at Papers’ Edge focuses on simple silhouettes. I’m loving the custom portraits. What a special way to celebrate your family!

artwork by Artfulife

Summer Swanson of Artfulife has a rich style and I simply love how her work celebrates the beauty of the papers she chooses. The embroidery details add a punch to her pieces. You will find original cut paper art as well as acrylic paintings in her shop. Don’t forget to watch Summer in action as she writes about her life and art on her blog.

artwork by Super Cool Spy Club

I have one question for artist Jared Andrew Schorr of Super Cool Spy Club…”Can I please join?” His work is crazy happy and colorful. I love that Schorr offers affordable originals in his shop! Hang one of his pieces by your morning coffee spot and you are sure to start the day feeling great.

Aren’t these cut paper artists amazing? I hope you are inspired to add at least one piece to your personal collection or maybe you found a great gift for the upcoming holidays. I’m sure I won’t be able to look at scissors and paper the same way ever again!
