Hallowe’en Bunting from Pamwares
You might think I’m jumping the gun a bit – showing you Hallowe’en home decor already… But I think it’s the perfect time to start thinking about this fun fall holiday. I know that some shops on Etsy and other handmade venues will sell out of their decorations in just a couple short weeks and that other items are made to order so have some turnaround time. Before I go on, I should ask – are you a Hallowe’en person? As is the case with every tradition and holiday, we all come to it with different ideas and different levels of enthusiasm. In my little family and amongst my friends every year our approach varies. Some years we go all out with fun parties, themed cupcakes and elaborate costumes. Other years it’s enough to watch a scary movie on tv. I don’t know what the plan is this year, but my husband and I usually co-ordinate our costumes. Just a couple years ago we were Sarah Palin and John Mccain, another year the husband and wife from the Incredibles and many years ago the Genie and the Captain from I Dream of Jeannie. This time around, I’m not sure why – but I feel like we should dress up as police officers!

I’d love to hear some of your Hallowe’en traditions, do you dress up still? If you have kids, do they think it’s fun, or do they prefer other holidays? At this point I love thinking ahead to our Hallowe’en celebrations in the future too. It’d be fun if we’re that family that has a great display out front of our home, both fun and a bit scary for the kids who are out trick or treating. And of course getting the kids ready for Hallowe’en – I have fond memories of picking out costumes when I was young and carving pumpkins too. For me, Hallowe’en means remembering that fun-loving side of ourselves that wants to eat candy and be someone else if only just for an evening!
