I love these elegant glass earrings made with the burnerwork technique.

{ Update 2 from the artist: “The ‘torch work’ is called ‘burner work’ in Japan. It looks like the technique for making the lamp work bead, and is not too difficult. The knack is to use the glass made in Japan. The glass made in Japan is low melting point, and sticky. Therefore, it is possible to combine with silver.” }
{ Update for those who have asked about ‘burnerwork’ – Heather Palmer tells me that it is also called ‘lampwork’, ‘flamework’ or ‘torchwork’ and I think those names are more familiar. This explains why I had a hard time googling ‘burnerwork’ when I was writing this post… Thanks Heather! }
