I had a very memorable time this weekend, a few of us bridesmaids were lucky enough to be able to join my cousin as she chose her wedding dress! We drove over the border, a popular pastime for us Canadians when the dollar is high, and were rewarded for our efforts. Of course, even after trying on 20 dresses – the first dress was “the one”. It’s so often that that is the way, huh? We also chose our bridesmaid dresses too – so that was pretty exciting. I’m looking forward to dressing up and celebrating, big time! On the way back we were treated to an unusual snowstorm (we usually never get snow this late in the year) which made for some very interesting driving! We laughed it off and enjoyed the occasional treacherous patch, with the car sliding just slightly out of control. Because driving conditions weren’t ideal a few of us found ourselves on public transit for part of the trip, but that just added to the fun. All in all it was nice to get home, and to have a nice cup of tea as you can imagine.
Without further ado I’d like to share a wonderful – new to me – site with you, Wedzu. I figure this is the time of year that brides are starting to get more serious about planning for their upcoming summer nuptials – so the timing is perfect. This online marketplace for indie and handmade sellers is dedicated to weddings exclusively, making browsing a real treat. Shop from invitations, jewelry, accessories, and much more!
For brides wanting a more casual look I found the above sweet, short wedding dress style from: KT Jean.
I couldn’t pass up sharing these fun and sweet decorations with you from Party Poms!
Andrea Bonelli’s creations are nothing short of stunning, and I think you’ll want to drop a hint or two about this shop to your fiance to be before he starts ring shopping.
I’ve seen so many brides in beautiful veils and gorgeous floral hair accessories these last couple of years, I love this one from Chinny Lulu!
For all those brides to be out there – I hope your planning is going smoothly! Would love to hear about your fun handmade bridal finds in the comments section.
Awesome. I have a friend who is planning her wedding right now. I will make sure she reads this!
I hope it helps – looks like a fantastic resource.
This is beautiful! Those party poms are SO much fun!!
Very festive!
I agree with Becky, Those pom pom do look like a lot of fun!!! lol the ring is gorgeous!
I want pompoms like that in my kids’ room!
Coincidentally, I have both a ring designed by Andrea and I used one of Chinnylulu’s designs in my last photoshoot! They are both amazing artists with quality work. So glad to see them both featured today!
That is a really funny coincidence ;)
thanks for the link to wedzu! i hadn’t heard of it. i’m planning a someday-wedding (engaged almost 3 years already, ha) and it will be VERY low-budget so i’m thrilled to have this resource!
my fiance did get me a handmade engagement ring, from etsy (jewelscurnow). awww, a guy who really knows you- priceless!
An handmade wedding ring? That’s wonderful!
I love those part poms!
Weddings are such special events, the best way to have one is handmade and unique. Avoid those cookie cutter dresses etc. It’s not really any more expensive either and eventually your wedding items will be valuable family heirlooms and treasures.
Thanks for sharing.
thanks guys for all your comments!! i wish i had a special occasion i could get those party poms for :)
